City Apart 3 (2009, 4.1MB, 11 secs)
Using a city built in SketchUp I took screen shots around the landscape.
I filmed myself and edited each frame to make myself look
a part of the surroundings by coating a sketch like layer onto my
frames which created a chaotic but calm atmosphere.
I also wanted to explore composition and how I could manipulate it.
I would like to thank Peter for modeling for me in my video.

Fire 1 (2009, 22.5MB, 57 secs )
A Lumière observing the movement and light patterns in a fire.
Fire 2 (2009, 12.1MB, 57 secs )
A Lumière using Fire 1 projected onto balloons.
Fire 3 (2009, 9.3MB, 49 secs )
A Lumière created by projecting Fire 1 onto a balloon and flipped upside down.
Fire 4 (2009, 11.1MB, 1.03 min )
A short film playing with light, I projected Fire 1 onto a balloon and filmed it from the other side. I like the colours and abstract shapes formed by the light shining through the balloon.
Fire 5 (2009, 16.3MB, 1:13 min )
In this short film, I used the same technique as Fire 4 but moved my hand in front of the projection to create more movement in the lighting.
Fire 6 (2009, 11.7MB, 55 secs )
For Fire 6 I did the same as above using a side profile of my face instead of my hand.
Fire 7 (2009, 16.7MB, 1.06 min )
In this short film I projected Fire 1 onto a piece of paper, filmed it from behind and used the same technique as Fire 6, standing between the projector and the paper creating a silhouette of my face.

Dancing is one of my passions. In creating these images I wanted to make a comparison between visible images and shadow in the real world.

Liquid Dance (2009, 192.2 MB, 5:55min)
In this abstract video I filmed the group of dance students using a range of different appliances to distort the visuals. Then using video editing software I was able to manipulate the colour scheme and add video effects to enhance the imagery. I also added a sound track where I recorded myself playing the guitar to create calm and obscure noises to complement the visuals.
With thanks to Carl, Danielle, Laura, Michael, Rachel and Zandra and also to Heike Salzer of the Dance in the Community course at Teesside University.

Six Lumières
Here I have created six Lumières that are all run in a game engine. I decided to explore different ways of using the lumière concept and this was one of the ideas, exploring the contrast between reality and virtual reality. Here I took the source and projected it on to a wall then using a flip camcorder I recorded the footage off the wall that it was projected on, creating a washed out colour filter that also blends the virtual visual aspects of the video.
